Where to go in Berlin in March? Tips for beautiful spring days in Berlin

Spring festivals, flea markets, open-air events – there is always plenty to do in Berlin. Highlights in March include European Month of Photography, the MaerzMusik festival and the Spring Festival on Kurt-Schumacher-Damm. Here are a few more tips.

Berlin-Brandenburg Poetry Slam Championships
4 to 7 March 2026
The highlight of the year for all slammers. The final of the Berlin-Brandenburg Poetry Slam Championship will take place in the Columbiahalle. In addition to the competition for the title, slammers Lisa Pauline Wagner, Samson, Ken Yamamoto and Anna Hader will provide further highlights with their performances outside of the competition.

Archives Day
7 and 8 March 2026
Under the motto ‘Facts, Stories, Curiosities’, the archives in Berlin invite you to an open day. The following archives are participating this year: Political Archive of the Federal Foreign Office, Diary and Memoir Archive (TEA), Federal Archive, Stasi Records Archive, Archive of the Academy of Arts, Archive of the GDR Opposition of the Robert Havemann Society, Berlin State Archive and Contemporary Witness Archive of the Documentation Centre for Flight, Expulsion and Reconciliation.

Charlottenwalk
13 and 14 March 2026
Charlottenwalk invites visitors to discover galleries in Charlottenburg and Wilmersdorf once again. Around 40 galleries are taking part in the gallery tour in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. The exhibitions feature paintings, sculptures, photographs, installations and poster art. Modern and contemporary works will be on display alongside art from the early 20th century.

Berlin Chocolate Festival
21 and 22 March 2026
At this two-day food festival, visitors of all ages can immerse themselves in the world of chocolate and cocoa at the Arena Market. Outside, there is a selection of sweet and savoury delicacies on offer as part of the street food range. Inside, you will find exquisite creations from renowned producers, including bakeries, delicatessens, patisseries and industry-related companies. You can look forward to pizza with cocoa dough, tacos with chocolate sauce or cocoa tagliatelle.

Around the Müggelturm
22 March 2026
The run around the Müggelturm heralds the anticipation of spring in Berlin and is popular for good reason: all routes lead through the countryside south of the Müggelberge and along the Dahme. Distances of 5 kilometres, 10 kilometres and a half marathon are offered. The start and finish point for all routes is the Wendenschloss lakeside resort.
